For an upcomming trip to Photoshop World in Las Vegas this fall I am working on some entries for a contest.  Tell me what you think.

Photoshop World 2012 Announces the Winners

Title: A New Life, with an Old Religion

Let me give you some history on this historic Bible.  This Bible was owned by John Alden who in 1620 came to the New World on the May Flower.  The black case was made sometime later by the next owner of the Bible.  The Bible sits on the right in brown leather.  John Alden happens to be my Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great Grandfather.  This Bible is currently in the Dartmouth Library and I was able to touch, hold, and turn the pages of this beautiful book.  In his own quill pen, John Alden wrote of his thoughts and feelings on the pages of his beloved Bible while traveling across the ocean on this historic journey.

In editing I have overlayed a replica of the Mayflower with an opacity while adjusting the levels and curves to give contrast.

Title: A Long Road, A Spectacular View – It’s Worth the Wait

Before and After

This is a HDR of the lane entrance of the Joseph Smith Memorial Birthplace Historical Site in South Royalton, VT.  These magnificent trees line the lane to the memorial of the Prophet Joseph Smith.  I loved the colors and the definition of colors in the leaves of the trees.  Truly a magnificent sight on sacred ground.

Title: Freedom

Before and After

There is something about an American Flag caught in the wind that defines freedom.  I  love how I captured this flag in a full wave.   This picture was taken in Boston Harbor aboard the Constitution Ship.

I’m also working on a Photo Restoration but have not completed it as of yet however here is the photo.

Title: Drive Through the Redwoods

I love this picture!  My grandfather is in the middle standing and leaning on the passenger car window.  These are his friends on a trip through Yosemite in 1930.  I’m working on restoring some color to this picture along with removing some blemishes from natural wear and tear over the years.  It’s still a work in progress.

I’ve got to weed out one of these pictures….Which would you choose to submit and why?
